GYHA Staff and Volunteers
We need volunteers to support our teams and players in a variety of ways. These ways include positions that need no experience or documentation, and other positions that do require screenings or trainings.
Volunteer positions that do not require anything beyond wanting to be part of the game include:
- Penalty box attendant during games
- running time clock/scoreboard during home games
- live stream of all games
- fundraising
Volunteer positions such as manager and locker room attendant do have additional requirements.
Per USA Hockey regulations, all adult volunteers that are in direct contact with players or may have access to personal information regarding players (including but not limited to: coaches, managers, board members, locker room attendants, etc.) must meet specific registration and documentation requirements.
The following requirements must be completed PRIOR to being placed on the volunteer roster for your player's team. (For managers, these requirements must be completed before you can recieve your team information or roster.)
- USAH registration as a volunteer - if you are receiving this email you have met this requirement. This is an annual requirement.
- Background screening through NCSI and linked with your USAH account. The screening can be found on the USAH website with this link: https://www.usahockey.com/backgroundscreen The 8-digit organization number for USAH should be pre-populated. Background screenings are good for 2 seasons.
- SafeSport training through your USAH account. This is an annual requirement consisting of an initial training (1st year) and then refesher courses for the next 3 years for a 4 year cycle. You will log-in to the HockeyHQ portal with your USAH number. If you have not logged into the HockeyHQ portal before, use the "forgot password" option to set your password and log in. If you are volunteering in any of these positions, please complete this registration to supply your USAH number.

2024-25 Volunteers
This registration will serve to collect USAH 2024-25 season confirmation numbers for all team managers and team parent or other adult volunteers who need documentation. (i.e. locker room attendants). This registration is NOT for coaching staff - if you are a coach please use the coach registration link that was sent to you via email.
If you are wanting to volunteer as a parent, please check with your team manager or a BOD member prior to completing this registration and background screening.
